The Old Theater presents a one-man adaptation of the memoir, “Blood Done Sign My Name,” this Saturday night

March 13, 2009 by Jeff Aydelette

The book won praise for author Tim Tyson’s account of the racially-motivated murder of a black man in Oxford, NC in 1970, and the unrest that broke out afterward. Tyson was the son of the town’s Methodist minister at the time. Actor Mike Wiley has written a 90-minute adaptation in which he plays almost 20 parts, and is touring the state with the show. Tickets are $20 ($18 for Old Theater members) and are available at Croakertown, Buckhorn Books and Bank of the Arts (in New Bern). Show time is 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 14.
