Freshly painted recycling containers were placed next to the ball park on Straight Road near the intersection of White Farm Road Tuesday morning. The bins are for co-mingled recyclable material so there is no reason to spend time separating the colors of glass from the plastics from the cardboard and paper products. It is helpful if cardboard boxes are broken down to reduce the amount of space they take up in the bin.

According to Jesse Bloomberg, Pamlico County Recycling Supervisor, the containers will be emptied on an "as needed" basis.

"If they get filled up every day, we'll empty them every day," he said.

Two blue containers will be placed at the site with a third rotating to replace the full one.
County residents are urged to utilize these and other recycling receptacles strategically placed throughout the county.
