Kindle honored as 'Fireman of the Year'

Eric Kindle, volunteer firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician I with Station 19, member of the Pamlico County Rescue Squad and new member of the Triangle Volunteer Fire Department, received the coveted honor of “Station 19 Firefighter of the Year” award Monday night.

Kindle, owner of The Bean coffee shops in Oriental and Bayboro, received the award during Station 19’s annual banquet held at The Silos. Pictured with Kindle, left, is fire chief Alan Arnfast, center and Larry Czikra, assistant fire chief. In addition to the trophy, Kindle’s name will be added to the roster on the station plaque.
